About Us
Dragon Seed Connection (DSC), founded in 1991, is a non-profit student organization operating under the Alma Mater Society (AMS) of The University of British Columbia (UBC). Since its establishment, DSC has become one of the largest and most successful student associations at UBC, attracting 1000 members annually. With over 100 executives in eleven different departments, DSC encourages all those involved to maximize their student experience by gaining organizational, interpersonal and creative skills through the planning and participation of various events.
DSC has organized a variety of activities such as educational/leisure workshops and seminars, volunteer functions, social events, public performances and sport activities both within and outside of UBC campus. With our commitment to members and fellow students, DSC strives to enhance students’ university experience and enable them to develop a strong sense of belonging within UBC. Our executive members not only organize fun events but many events also give back to the community. From donating to charities such as BC Cancer Foundation, World Vision, and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. to co-operating with organizations such as Dance Generationz, our exec team is dedicated to creating exciting and meaningful events for all DSC members.
With the ever changing cultural environment, DSC is dedicated in promoting biculturalism. Our vision is to have a club where Chinese/Taiwanese people can identify with both their own culture and Canadian culture. The overall goal is to create an atmosphere where the different cultures can mix and where all our individual members can mix and have a fun and meaningful experience.
